Zenith and Time+Tide have officially unveiled the final timepiece in their popular ‘Surfer’ limited-edition watches—the DEFY Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramic completes the trilogy. Following the success of the DEFY Classic Skeleton Night Surfer in 2021 and its follow-up, the DEFY Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero in 2023, the duo now presents their third summer-ready timepiece in a beach-inspired theme of white and blue.
Where the first two editions were dressed in dark, micro-blasted titanium, this third and final piece comes in a full white 41 mm ceramic case and integrated bracelet, making it lightweight and highly scratch-resistant. The screw-down crown maintains a 100-metre water resistance.
The dial stays true to the surfer theme, featuring a blue gradient openworked design, fading from deep navy at the top to sky blue at the bottom. The skeletonised structure showcases Zenith’s five-pointed star bridge motif, now filled with Super-LumiNova—something only done once before in the original Night Surfer.
Beneath the dial beats Zenith’s high-frequency automatic movement, the El Primero 3620 SK. Operating at 5 Hz, it offers hours, minutes, and a 1/10th of a second subdial at 6 o’clock, a hallmark of the El Primero line. The movement offers 55 hours of power reserve and a hacking seconds feature for precise setting. The blue finish on the movement’s mainplate and rotor complements the ocean-blue aesthetic.
The watch comes on a matching white ceramic bracelet but also includes a white rubber strap with a starry sky pattern, which can be easily switched using the quick strap-change mechanism.
Benoît de Clerck, CEO of Zenith, said, “With this third chapter in our collaboration, we’re not just continuing a story—we’re elevating it. Each edition has deepened our creative dialogue, and this new release is the boldest expression yet of what we can achieve together.”
Time+Tide founder Andrew McUtchen remarked, “There’s a huge risk in trying for a trilogy when the first two collabs have been so popular, but when we saw the prototype of an ‘inverted’ Night Surfer, in brushed white ceramic, we just had to make it happen. The gradient light blue dial sealed it. Best summer watch ever.”
The ZENITH DEFY Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramic is a limited edition of 100 pieces, available globally through Time+Tide, ZENITH retailers, and ZENITH boutiques both in-store and online. Priced at approx. INR 20,35,000.
What we think -
The Night Surfer collab from Zenith has generated a lot of interest for the brand, and it is fully deserved. Time+Tide and Zenith are both under extremely able leadership and this collab checks a lot of boxes.
