In the whole watchmaking world there are barely a handful of watchmakers who focus on and excel at making astronomical timekeeping devices. Christiaan van der Klaauw, the brand named after its founder, is well known for looking to the heavens and creating miniature astronomical systems to be worn on the wrist. We met and spoke with Pim Koeslag, the CEO and prodigy of the brand, and got to understand how the brand makes such otherworldly watches and where the maison is headed.
