The 2025 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the watch industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony, has just concluded in Geneva, bringing together the world’s leading watchmakers under one roof. Hosted at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices - a former hydroelectric power station transformed into an impressive cultural venue - the event set the stage for an elegant and spirited celebration of the year’s achievements in horology.

At the centre of the evening’s news was the announcement of this year’s “Aiguille d’Or,” the coveted Best of Show prize, and the top honour has been awarded to the Breguet Classique Souscription 2025, a deceptively simple timepiece whose significance runs deep, especially as Breguet marks its 250th anniversary. While past winners often leaned toward highly complex creations - last year, for instance, the IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar took home the trophy - the 2025 jury chose a watch that pays homage not only to technical refinement but to the very foundations of watchmaking, which trace back to Abraham-Louis Breguet himself. Alongside the grand prize, the Special Jury Prize was bagged by Alain Dominique Perrin, President of the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, for his contribution and vision in high-quality watchmaking. Also, master watchmaker Kari Voutilainen has kept breaking his own record, winning his 12th GPHG.
Each category in the 2025 GPHG saw its own winner revealed, rounding out the complete list of honourees for this year’s ceremony.
