India’s homegrown watch brand Titan has joined the race to create ultra-thin watches. While Bvlgari’s Octo Finissimo, Piaget’s Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon, and Richard Mille’s RM UP-01 have remained unbeaten so far, several other brands have also managed to produce timepieces under 5 mm thick, such as the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Squelette at 3.6 mm and the Citizen Eco-Drive One at 2.98 mm.

Launched in 2002, the Edge was Titan’s first-ever timepiece to enter the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in 2024. Now, the brand has expanded the collection with its slimmest model yet, the Edge Ultraslim, measuring just 3.3 mm in thickness. Its 40.5 mm case is made from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel with precision microblasted finishing. The bezel gleams with circular satin finishing, while the lugs remain concealed.

A sapphire crystal with six layers of anti-reflective coating tops the dial, available in two colourways—a monochromatic black and a grey version with a black centre. The hour markers sit on a fixed matte-finished ring, while the central disc, marked with a sleek hand, glides to indicate time in ten-minute intervals. The dial is signed with the Titan Edge logo at 3 o’clock.

Powering the timepiece is Titan’s Calibre Edge T9081 quartz movement, which measures just 1.15 mm in thickness. The watch is paired with a stitch-free Italian calf leather strap and weighs only 30 grams. It offers water resistance up to 30 metres. Each version of the Edge Ultraslim is priced at INR 74,995.

What we think -
Titan is really starting to push the envelope with their watchmaking prowess. They have conquered the domestic Indian market and are now setting their sights on the global stage. Team Chronoholic wishes them the best and, yet, advises caution. Because it is one thing to simply do big things but totally another to do them with significance, relevance, and purpose.
