Ahead of Dubai Watch Week 2025, Schwarz Etienne has unveiled the new 1902 GMT, an elegant travel watch offered with either a blue (WCL39GMTAS114TICUARD) or silver dial (WCL39GMTAS16TICUARD). The timepiece celebrates 123 years since its founding and follows the earlier anniversary releases, the 1902 Petite Seconde and the 1902 Réserve de Marche.

The dial features several textures - a velvety-grained centre, an opaline GMT hour ring on the silver version or a circular satin-finished ring on the blue one, and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock with an azurage finish. Local time is shown with lancine-style hour and minute hands, while a central GMT hand indicates home time; it is polished and blue PVD on the silver dial, and white lacquered on the blue dial. A slim chemin de fer with tiny red accents circles the display. Both offer hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock, and a central GMT display, uniting modern practicality with Schwarz Etienne’s refined watchmaking style.

The watch comes in a 39 mm Grade 5 titanium case that is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic, and only 10.90 mm thick. The polished bezel contrasts with brushed lugs and polished flanks, and the sloping lugs help the watch sit comfortably on the wrist. The titanium crown features both polished and satin finishes and carries the Schwarz Etienne logo. Water-resistance is 50 metres.

Inside the watch is Schwarz Etienne’s in-house automatic movement with micro-rotor, the ASE 320.00. Designed and assembled entirely in La Chaux-de-Fonds, it runs at 3 Hz (21,600 vph) and offers an 86-hour power reserve. The movement is only 5.35 mm thick thanks to the micro-rotor, which uses the brand’s new ball-bearing system for efficient winding. Finishing includes a sandblasted and rhodium-treated mainplate with polished bevels, bridges decorated with circular and concentric Côtes de Genève, a ratchet wheel with sunray finishing and a polished drop, and a micro-rotor with polished and satin areas and a chevron motif inspired by the pine trees of La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Both versions are fitted with a blue alligator strap lined with black rubber, secured by a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle.
