Schwarz Etienne presents 1902 Réserve de Marche
Schwarz Etienne presents 1902 Réserve de Marche

Manual winding is an essential ritual of mechanical watch ownership, and the power reserve indicator serves as a timely reminder for it. In the new Schwarz Etienne 1902 Réserve de Marche, this practical complication takes centre stage, prominently positioned at 2 o’clock on the dial. Available with either silver or gold-toned dials, the watch is part of the 1902 collection—a tribute to the year the brand was founded.

The 1902 Réserve de Marche measures 39 mm in diameter and 10.9 mm in thickness. It is crafted in Grade 5 titanium with alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes. The dial, available in silver (Ref. WCL39RDMMSE16TICUARD) or 4N gold colour (Ref. WCL39RDMMSE34TICUARD), features a finely grained central texture, complemented by an opaline outer ring with printed numerals, a clean minute track, and polished appliqué indexes. Signature lancine-style hands, finished in silver, alternate between sandblasted and polished surfaces.

The power reserve display in the upper right quadrant is set into a spiral-patterned disc with a contrasting white scale and black track. Completing the symmetry is a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, adorned with a snailed finish and diamond-cut ring.

Developed entirely in Schwarz Etienne’s La Chaux-de-Fonds manufacture, the watch houses the in-house calibre MSE 311.00, a hand-wound movement with stop-seconds, delivering 120 hours of power reserve via twin barrels mounted in parallel, and beating at a frequency of 3 Hz. The movement is adorned with decorative finishes—a sandblasted mainplate with rhodium treatment, tone-on-tone engraving, polished bevels, and straight Côtes de Genève bridges, and the ratchet wheels feature a diamond drop and satin finish.

Water-resistant up to 50 metres, the timepiece is presented on an alligator leather strap lined with black rubber, secured with a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle engraved with the brand logo. The silver dial version is paired with a black strap, while the 4N gold dial model comes with a brown strap.
