Mido has expanded its renowned Multifort TV series with a new chronograph timepiece—the Multifort TV Chronograph brings back the retro-inspired aesthetic of the collection’s Big Date model, characterised by its 1970s-style TV-shaped case. The brand launched the collection in 2023 with a blue-dial Multifort TV Big Date, and quickly established itself with a distinctive design, reliable mechanics, a variety of colours, and accessible pricing.

The case of the Multifort TV Chronograph measures 42 mm wide, 41.20 mm long (at the bezel), and 14.4 mm thick, crafted in stainless steel with brushed and polished finishes. Signature design cues include the shaped bezel with a recessed dot at 12 o’clock, a screw-down crown with guards, and chronograph pushers on either side. The front is protected with a shaped sapphire crystal, and the caseback with a circular one. The watch is water-resistant to 100 metres.

The dial comes in two variations—Ref. M049.527.11.041.00 featuring a blue-to-black gradient background with polished steel hands and white markers coated with Super-LumiNova®; and Ref. M049.527.11.081.00 with a grey-to-black gradient dial with yellow accents, including the tachymeter scale, and black hands coated with Super-LumiNova®. Both dials feature horizontal grooves for texture, raised hour markers, and a framed date window positioned at 4:30.

The timepiece is powered by the Mido Calibre 60, an automatic movement based on the ETA A05.231, which itself is derived from the well-known Valjoux 7750 architecture. This calibre has been upgraded with an extended 60-hour power reserve, compared to the standard 48 hours of earlier generations. It operates at a 4 Hz frequency and is finished to Elaboré-grade standards, featuring perlage on the mainplate, brushed and polished surfaces on the openworked rotor, and blued screws.

Flanking the watch is an integrated stainless steel bracelet with brushed outer links and polished centre links, secured by a folding clasp with quick-release push pins. Each model also comes with an additional synthetic fabric strap in blue or black, fitted with a pin buckle, allowing for versatile styling.

The Mido Multifort TV Chronograph is priced at approx. INR 2,50,000, offering strong value within the sports chronograph segment.
