In 2023, Mido celebrated the 50th anniversary of its luxury sports watch, the Multifort, with the Big Date model inspired by the TV-shaped watches of the 1970s. Following the earlier versions in stainless steel, black PVD, and rose gold PVD, the brand has now unveiled a full titanium version of its renowned vintage-inspired watch - the Mido Multifort TV Big Date Titanium - lending it a sleek monochromatic aesthetic and lightweight comfort.

The cushion-like timepiece measures 39.2 mm x 40 mm and is just 11.5 mm thick. Complemented by a wide, vertically brushed bezel, a recessed pip at 12 o’clock, and subtle case lips at both ends, its softly curved rectangular form is instantly recognisable. A screw-down crown with protective guards ensures water resistance up to 100 metres.

True to its name, the dial features a big date display at 12 o’clock on two separate black discs with crisp white numerals for easy reading at a glance. Its gradient grey colour stands out with Mido’s signature horizontal grooves stretched across the surface, fading from a lighter centre to darker edges. Completing it are recessed circular and trapezoid hour markers at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, which, along with the baton hour and minute hands, are treated with white Super-LumiNova.

Inside beats the automatic Mido Calibre 80, part of the Swatch Group’s trusted Powermatic 80 family. It offers an impressive 80-hour power reserve, a shock-resistant and anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring, and a beautifully decorated rotor with Geneva stripes.

Flanking the case, the titanium bracelet is finished with polished central and satin-brushed outer links. It secures with a folding clasp and includes a practical quick-release system, allowing for effortless strap changes in seconds.
Now part of Mido’s permanent collection, the Multifort TV Big Date Titanium is priced at CHF 1,290 (approx. INR 1,43,000).
