Bold, bare and brilliant, the all-new BR-03 Skeleton collection from Bell & Ross is here to bare it all!
Launched at this year’s Watches & Wonders Geneva, 2025, this unapologetically raw and refined collection is taking the horological world by storm.
Launched as part of the “20 YEARS BOLD” campaign, the BR-03 Skeleton marks two decades of Bell & Ross’s most iconic square watch. Founded in 1994 by lifelong friends Carlos-A. Rosillo and Bruno Belamich, Bell & Ross was born from a shared passion for aviation and precision timekeeping. Favoured by pilots, divers, bomb disposal experts, and space professionals, the brand soon created a niche for themselves. With its now-iconic “circle within a square” design, the BR-01 broke the mold in 2005, drawing inspiration from the cockpit flight instruments. From cockpit-ready BR-03s to city-slick BR-05s and the futuristic BR-X5, Bell & Ross infused each line with its signature DNA.
A masterclass in controlled deconstruction
Skeletonization peels back the layers of timekeeping, revealing the poetic dance of gears and springs. While it may look daringly minimalist, it’s a delicate craft and for many watch enthusiasts, skeletonization should be considered a complication in its own right.
The three new BR-03 Skeleton models are powered by the same skeleton movement, designed and exclusively manufactured for Bell & Ross. Featuring a 54-hour power reserve, the new BR-CAL.328 caliber—an automatic, three-hand movement without a date—ensures the reliability and precision of all three BR-03 Skeleton versions. The upper bridges form an X with their four double arms, each connecting to one of the four bezel screws.
“By skeletonizing our BR-03, one of the pillars of our collections, we have brought an additional watchmaking dimension to an everyday timepiece. We have reworked the bridges and upper plates of the movement to bring maximum sophistication to the BR-03. To reinforce this concept, we redesigned the entire watch around a specific X-shaped structure, a symbol of sophistication and avant-garde.” explains Bruno Belamich, Creative Director and co-founder of Bell & Ross.
A concept watch with a powerful design and subtle details, the new BR-03 Skeleton is available in three bold versions, Black Ceramic, Lum Ceramic, or Grey Steel, each complementary yet unique in their style and story.
“By simultaneously offering three versions with very different approaches, we allow this watch to reinvent itself, embracing three original and innovative designs." Belamich continues.
BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic
A design revelation in black, the BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic strips down the classic silhouette to expose the mechanical soul beneath.
The transparent smoked sapphire dial reveals the architectural X-shaped upper bridges, accented by black "baignoire-style" applique indexes filled with green-glowing Super-LumiNova® X1 for maximum legibility. Skeletonized hour and minute hands, also filled with SLN, maintain clarity even in the lowest light, while the black seconds hand features a contrasting white tip for added precision.
The 41mm black ceramic case offers a sleek, modernist frame to a skeletonized movement that’s as technical as it is artistic.
BR-03 Skeleton Grey Steel
The BR-03 Skeleton Steel Grey tempers raw mechanical intensity with a cool, industrial edge.
Presented as a sculpture in steel, its open-worked smoked sapphire dial proudly displays its mechanical skeletonized heart. The dial’s X-shaped bridges are treated with ruthenium for extra brilliance, while faceted “baignoire-style” indexes are designed to capture light and amplify its jewel-like sophistication. Skeletonized hour and minute hands, both filled with green-glowing Super-LumiNova®, and a black seconds hand with a white tip ensure high readability without compromising aesthetics.
BR-03 Skeleton Lum Ceramic
The boldest of the trio, the BR-03 Skeleton Lum Ceramic is a glowing marvel once the lights dim.
By day, it’s a stealthy black ceramic timepiece with sharp, futuristic lines. By night, it transforms—its X-shaped skeletonized movement glowing with an electric green intensity that feels straight out of a sci-fi frame. Green luminescence, long a Bell & Ross signature, is used here not just for visibility, but as a design language here.
"The neon-like photoluminescent effect allows us to X-ray the skeletonization, giving it a modernized aesthetic dimension. The skeletonized dial is cut following the contours of the movement’s bridges, exposing blackened gears through the tinted sapphire crystal. A green Super-LumiNova outline traces the cutouts, reminiscent of the illuminated grille of a car. Here, luminescent material is used not just for optimal readability—something we usually focus on for professional watches—but as a decorative and horological finishing element" details Bruno Belamich.
From the blackened gears to the translucent dial plate, every detail pushes the boundaries of traditional form and function.
Each of the three BR-03 Skeleton models comes with two interchangeable straps—a sleek black rubber strap and a rugged, aviation-inspired black Velcro option. Offering a solid water resistance of up to 100 meters, the new BR-03 Skeleton collection ensures everyday durability without compromising on style.
The BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic is priced at EUR 6,400, while the stealthy Grey Steel edition, limited to just 250 pieces, retails for EUR 5,900. The most radical of the trio, the luminescent-forward Skeleton Lum Ceramic, also limited to 250 pieces, comes in at EUR 6,900.
