Commemorating the 75th anniversary of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, ID Genève has created the new MorphoDune 75th. The timepiece coincides with the upcoming Dubai Watch Week hosted by Seddiqi Holding and captures the serenity of the Arabian desert through Swiss craftsmanship.

The MorphoDune’s dial draws inspiration from the ever-shifting dunes of the Arabian desert, exuding the finesse of nature's fluid geometry through an interplay of light and texture. To achieve this, ID Genève partnered with Morphotonix, a Swiss nanotechnology pioneer known for its patented, pigment-free nano-engraving process used to secure banknotes and passports. It is the first time that this technology has been used in the art of watchmaking. Using only light, Morphotonix imprints microscopic holographic structures directly onto the dial’s metal surface - no inks, no coatings - resulting in a natural iridescence that transforms with every angle, much like sunlight gliding across sand. Blue luminescent Arabic numerals and diamond-coated hour markers reference the celestial blue that holds deep cultural meaning across the Arab world, symbolising peace, protection, and contemplation. The hands are polished and diamond-coated and glow in the dark with Super-LumiNova, recalling the night sky over the sands.

The 37 mm case is just 8.8 mm thick and is crafted entirely from reprocessed 316L stainless steel, reflecting ID Genève’s circular design philosophy and its commitment to sustainability. The surface is satin-brushed, and the sapphire crystal is treated with an anti-reflective coating for optimal clarity.

Powering the MorphoDune 75th is a refurbished Swiss ETA 2892 movement, assembled in Geneva by master watchmaker Cédric Mulhauser. The way ID Genève does it, each movement is sourced from unused stock and restored to ensure longevity. Driving the hours, minutes, and seconds, it beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and delivers a 42-hour power reserve.

The integrated bracelet is handmade in Le Locle, designed with semi-elliptical links that mirror the dunes’ contours. It is enhanced with alternating brushed and polished surfaces and fastens with a triple-fold deployant clasp, also in reprocessed stainless steel.

Limited to just 20 numbered pieces, the ID Genève MorphoDune Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Edition is available exclusively through Ahmed Seddiqi boutiques, priced at approx. INR 5,40,000.
