All the watch news, reviews, videos you want, brought to you from fellow collectors
Strengthening its bond with motorsport giant Alpine, H. Moser & Cie. has created two new timepieces timed to coincide with the ongoing Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix—the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition, a skeletonised mechanical chronograph, and the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition, a technologically advanced connected watch built specifically to support Formula 1 operations. The duo first teamed up in 2024 to launch the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition, a skeletonised timepiece with accents in a signature blue colour that marks their partnership. That same shade of blue colours the new timepieces.
The two watches are presented in a bespoke case limited to 200 sets. Collectors or brand clients who already own last year’s Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine in blue or pink can purchase a single timepiece from the duo.
Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition
The Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition (Ref. 6700-1200) is a 200-piece limited-edition chronograph co-created with Alpine F1 drivers. Crafted from steel with a blue PVD treatment, the 42.3 mm × 14.2 mm watch houses the automatic HMC 700 calibre, developed with renowned movement specialist AGENHOR—now presented in a fully skeletonised format for the first time.
The open-worked dial, capped by a slightly domed sapphire crystal, reveals a dynamic mechanical architecture inspired directly by motorsport—V-shaped bridges mirror a Formula 1 car’s triangulated suspension, and a central bridge mimics a driver’s helmet. The skeleton rotor, visible on the dial side, echoes the design of an Alpine A110 wheel rim. The blue hour and minute hands are finished with Globolight® inserts for legibility in the dark. Encircling the dial is a tachymeter scale at the flange.
The chronograph features a central display of elapsed minutes and seconds, eschewing subdials for readability, and is operated using push-buttons at 10 and 2 o’clock. The inclusion of a flyback function allows instantaneous reset and restart—reflecting the precision pit stops of F1. The calibre operates at a frequency of 3 Hz and boasts a 72-hour power reserve. The crown at 4 o’clock winds the movement bi-directionally.
The timepiece is water-resistant up to 120 metres and comes flanked with an integrated white rubber strap, secured with a steel pin buckle with blue PVD treatment.
Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition
The Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition (Ref. 6DI0-1200) is the world’s first smartwatch developed specifically for the demands of a Formula 1 team. Created in collaboration with Alpine Motorsports, it is engineered not for window displays but for real-world, high-pressure use. It offers instant access to key race functions such as an F1 mode with countdowns and team alerts, a split-seconds chronograph with 1/100th-second precision, GMT with country selector, and a perpetual calendar.
The 42.6 mm × 14.4 mm watch case is crafted in blue PVD-coated steel, topped with a slightly domed sapphire crystal. It features push-buttons at 2, 3, and 4 o’clock, along with a dedicated SYNC button at 9 o’clock to activate Race Mode. The back is closed with a sapphire crystal case-back, and the entire case is water-resistant up to 120 metres or 12 ATM.
Blending digital innovation with classic design, the dial combines a “magic” sapphire digital display at 6 o’clock with a small Funky Blue fumé domed sub-dial at 12 o’clock, featuring the H. Moser & Cie. logo in transparent lacquer. The ceramic indices and hands are filled with Super-LumiNova®.
Powering the timepiece is the Calibre DI0, a connected movement developed with SEQUENT, a Swiss manufacturer known for creating the world’s first self-charging smartwatches. The movement beats at a frequency of 32,768 vibrations per second, with an accuracy of ±0.3 seconds per day and an impressive power reserve of 9,000 hours—or 12 months in time-only mode, or for six Grand Prix weekends when running full connected functions.
The watch supports Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3 and is compatible with iOS and Android. Functions are controlled via a connected module and include analogue hours and minutes, along with digital modes for chronograph timing, world time, calendar, and real-time race operations.
Limited to just 500 pieces, the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition comes with an integrated blue rubber strap and a steel pin buckle engraved with the Moser logo.
