Parisian watchmaker Beaubleu has unveiled its latest creation - the Ecce Figura collection - which continues to highlight the brand’s most recognisable design feature: circular hands. Since its founding in 2017 by designer Nicolas Ducoudert, Beaubleu has gained acclaim for this unique approach to time display.
The Ecce Figura collection introduces six distinct models: Lys, Onyx, Smalt, Alba, Vesperal, and Sienna. Each features a unique dial design and colour scheme, ranging from clean whites and deep blacks to vibrant blues, subtle silvers, and rich gold tones. Four of the six models feature three-dimensional dials, crafted from thicker blanks to incorporate machined elements, while Vesperal and Sienna showcase applied indices to enhance visual depth. The signature circular hour, minute, and second hands take centre stage, each differentiated by colour to ensure legibility.
Building on the 2023 Ecce collection, the Ecce Figura introduces a new case design. Although technically rectangular at 39mm x 30mm, the case’s curved corners form a soft semi-octagonal silhouette. This includes a concave outer bezel and an elevated main bezel. The cases are available in brushed or polished stainless steel, with or without a gold-PVD finish. The signed crown features Beaubleu’s emblem of interlocking circles, and the solid caseback, secured with four screws, is customisable with engraving.
Inside, the watches are powered by the reliable Japanese Miyota 9015 automatic movement, which operates at 4Hz and offers a 42-hour power reserve. While the movement includes a date function, Beaubleu has chosen to omit it from all six models to maintain the purity and symmetry of the dial. Timekeeping accuracy is rated between -10 and +30 seconds per day.
Each timepiece is fitted with a stainless steel mesh bracelet, colour-matched to its respective case and equipped with a quick-release system for convenience. The Ecce Figura collection starts at an accessible price of INR 87,000 (approx.)
What we think -
Beaubleu, a relatively under-recognized microbrand from France, has been making watches in their own unique language for a few years now and they have quietly built their fanbase across the world. This new release only adds to their charm.
