Frederique Constant has expanded its flagship Classics Carrée collection with the introduction of the Classics Carrée Moonphase Automatic. Since its inception, the Classics Carrée line has drawn inspiration from the rectangular silhouettes of the 1920s and 1930s, prioritising geometric symmetry and refined proportions. While previous iterations have featured date windows or the brand’s signature Heart Beat aperture, this latest model focuses exclusively on the lunar cycle.

Made in stainless steel, the classic rectangular case measures 42.3 mm × 30 mm, with a thickness of 10.51 mm. The dial is offered in two variations - silvered or navy blue - each featuring a chevron guilloché pattern and a sunray finish. The highlight, the moonphase, lies above 6 o’clock and is viewed through a crescent-shaped aperture, showing a grey moon and stars against a deep blue sky - tracking the lunar cycle of approximately 29.5 days. Hand-polished dauphine hands and faceted applied hour markers, framed by a peripheral railway-style minute track, complete the dial.

The timepiece is powered by the automatic FC-333 calibre, a movement based on the reliable SW280. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), provides a 38-hour power reserve, and is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback. The moonphase itself tracks the lunar cycle of approximately 29.5 days.

Completing the timepiece is a crocodile-embossed calfskin leather strap featuring tone-on-tone stitching and a stainless steel pin buckle. It is water-resistant up to 30 metres.
The Frederique Constant Classics Carrée Moonphase Automatic is priced at an accessible INR 1,69,000.
