In a new partnership with Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E) – a Los Angeles-based company that turns movies and TV shows into real-world products and experiences – Bremont has created a 500-piece limited-edition Altitude MB Meteor, bringing Felix the Cat in as the main character. The collaboration combines Bremont’s aviation-focused watchmaking with the long-standing association of the mascot of the U.S. Navy fighter squadrons.

Felix the Cat has historically been linked to naval aviation units, most notably VFA-31, known as the “Tomcatters.” The character first appeared in connection with the original VF-3 squadron and has remained part of successive squadron redesignations, continuing today with VFA-31. Over time, Felix became regarded as a good-luck emblem among pilots. The new watch references this aviation heritage under the theme “Watch Your Six,” a critical safety phrase drawn from fighter pilot clock-position terminology that directs a pilot to check their 6 o’clock position, directly behind them, for threats or hazards.

At the centre of the collaboration is the Altitude MB Meteor, introduced in 2025 as the latest evolution of Bremont’s MB series, which was originally developed in 2009 to withstand the extreme testing procedures used for Martin-Baker aircraft ejection seats. It retains the original’s core structural and shock-resistant features.

The Altitude MB Meteor ‘Felix the Cat’ comes in a 42 mm black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium case. It is built on Bremont’s three-part Trip-Tick construction, incorporating a PVD titanium knurled barrel and matching knurled titanium crowns. The bi-directional rotating inner bezel is operated via the brand’s Roto-Click system, which can be adjusted using the DLC-coated titanium crown positioned at 4 o’clock.

The stealth-black dial features applied Felix the Cat artwork, depicted running off with the number six, aligning with the “Watch Your Six” theme. The accents on the case and dial reference aviation safety colours while contrasting against the dark background. All applied numerals and indexes are filled with white Super-LumiNova® that glows blue in the dark for enhanced legibility. The minute track is executed in bright yellow, matching the looped “ejection” pull-handle motif at the tip of the central seconds hand, finished in yellow and black.

Powering the watch is Bremont’s automatic BB14-AH movement, built on a La Joux-Perret calibre. The movement offers about 68 hours of power reserve. It is mounted within a flexible rubber shock-absorbing system and protected by soft-iron shielding for magnetic resistance. The open caseback features Felix the Cat-themed decoration and reveals the movement, finished in gunmetal grey with Geneva Stripes.

Completing the timepiece is a matte black DLC titanium bracelet with quick-release functionality or a textured black leather strap with box-stitch detailing.
