Arnold & Son brings back the Globetrotter in 42 mm
Arnold & Son brings back the Globetrotter in 42 mm

Arnold & Son has revisited its famed Globetrotter collection with the new Globetrotter 42 Steel. The timepiece arrives in a more refined and compact case, suited for contemporary wear with a reduced 42 mm diameter and 15.1 mm thickness. Offered in two colourways—Strand Blue and Greenwich Green, each model is limited to 88 pieces. The watches pay homage to the brand’s first tool watches created for the English explorers in the 18th century.

Crafted in stainless steel, the case is topped with a domed sapphire crystal. The Globetrotter 42 retains the signature sculpted arched bridge, which holds a rotating three-dimensional Northern Hemisphere dome in place. This rotating globe makes one full turn every 24 hours and now includes a city ring featuring 12 international reference cities, symbolically coded and aligned with a 24-hour fixed ring to allow intuitive reading of world time.

The dial showcases sunray-brushed metallic continents set against deep Strand Blue or lush Greenwich Green lacquered oceans. Roman numerals mark the 12-hour local time, while Arabic numerals on the outer ring indicate global time—these are sunray-brushed or bead-blasted with rhodium or green, blue, or gold finish.

Powering the Globetrotter 42 is the in-house automatic A&S6122 calibre, visible through the sapphire caseback. With a frequency of 4 Hz and a 55-hour power reserve, the movement is decorated with circular graining, ‘Rayons de la Gloire’ Côtes de Genève, chamfered and blued screws, and a skeletonised palladium-treated tungsten rotor. The movement allows for precise adjustment of both home and world time via the crown’s three positions.

The timepieces are water resistant up to 30 metres and paired with alligator leather straps in ink blue or Cornwall green, depending on the version, and secured by a stainless steel pin buckle. Priced at approx. INR 19,75,000.
