Czapek & Cie. has expanded its Promenade collection with the new Promenade Transparencies Aqua Blue, bringing a fresh blue interpretation to the transparent design first introduced with the Viridian Green edition. Launched in 2020, the Promenade has since been presented in several distinctive executions, including Plissé, Diamond Drops, Goutte de Rosée, and the Viridian Green Transparencies created with Fratello. The new Aqua Blue now brings the transparency concept into the brand’s current collection with a limited run of just 38 pieces.

The watch is housed in a compact stainless-steel case measuring 38 mm in diameter, 10.8 mm in thickness, and 42 mm lug-to-lug. Curved lugs and hollowed case flanks give it a slender profile, while sapphire crystals on both sides, each treated with internal anti-reflective coating, allow the movement to remain absolutely visible. The watch is water-resistant to 50 metres.

For the highlight of the timepiece, the translucent Aqua Blue fumé sapphire dial, rather than using a conventional coloured surface, Czapek has applied a metallised finish to the underside of the sapphire through a vapour-deposition process. Microscopic metallic dots are distributed with increasing density towards the outer edge, gradually thinning towards the off-centred small-seconds display at 4:30. The result is a dial that remains relatively transparent at its centre before becoming progressively more opaque around the periphery, offering a controlled view of the skeletonised movement beneath. Hand-applied light-blue Super-LumiNova blocks replace the metallic indexes used on the Viridian Green edition, which glow blue in darkness.

Behind the dial is Czapek’s Calibre SXH7, a fully skeletonised evolution of the in-house SXH5 movement developed specifically to be appreciated from both sides of the watch – it is finished on both sides with openworked ratchets, sandblasted rhodium-plated bridges, straight-grained flanks, and hand-chamfered components. Its seven openworked bridges draw inspiration from the multi-bridge architecture of François Czapek’s 19th-century pocket watches. To make the movement visible through the dial, Czapek reversed the escapement and reworked the arrangement of several components, including the crown and keyless works. The small seconds is driven directly by the fourth wheel, while automatic winding is provided by a micro-rotor made from one hundred per cent recycled platinum. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers about 60 hours of power reserve.

The Czapek & Cie. Promenade Transparencies Aqua Blue comes on a dark-blue nubuck leather strap, with an alternative stainless-steel Milanese mesh bracelet. This limited-edition model is priced at approx. INR 34,35,000.
