Ressence has unveiled a new version of its celebrated TYPE 9 watch – the TYPE 9 IKE, created in collaboration with Japanese artist Ikeda Terumasa, who specialises in mother-of-pearl artistry. The timepiece, limited to just 8 pieces, blends the beauty of traditional Japanese techniques using urushi lacquer and raden (mother-of-pearl) with Ressence’s futuristic aesthetics.

The 39 mm × 11 mm case, crafted from Grade 5 titanium with a DLC coating, is topped by an anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal, which offers an enhanced view of the special dial within. The brand’s renowned rotating convex dial, inspired by heliocentrism and astronomical systems, has been enhanced with manually applied lacquer and ultra-thin mother-of-pearl inlay, whose many colours further elevate its futuristic look.

Ressence's patented ROCS 9 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module, driven by a customised automatic base calibre, powers the timepiece at a frequency of 4 Hz with an autonomy of 36 hours.

Powered by the patented ROCS 9 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module driven by a customised automatic base calibre, the self-winding movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, includes 31 jewels, 20 gears, and four ball bearings, and delivers a 36-hour power reserve. The movement features manual winding over 12°, and the time is set via the rotating caseback.

Completing the model is a black shiny horse leather strap with a moisture-repellent lining and a titanium ardillon buckle. Water resistance is rated to 10 metres.
