Strengthening its long-standing involvement in motorsport with digital watchmaking expertise, TAG Heuer has unveiled the new Connected Calibre E5 45 mm x Formula 1® to mark the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship. TAG Heuer’s association with Formula 1 spans decades, including partnerships with teams such as Ferrari, McLaren, and, more recently Oracle Red Bull Racing, as well as links to drivers like Ayrton Senna and Max Verstappen. The brand has also returned as Official Timekeeper of Formula 1®, a role it previously held from 1992 to 2003. The new Connected Calibre E5 builds on this heritage and integrates motorsport-focused digital features with smartwatch functionality, thereby bringing the real-time experience of forthcoming Grand Prix races onto the wrist.

The watch houses a dedicated Formula 1® ecosystem with a standout “Race Track” watch face that displays the time beneath the outline of a circuit and automatically adapts to each race weekend, incorporating the host country’s flag, race name, and track layout. Across the season, the watch cycles through 24 unique designs corresponding to the 24 Grand Prix events, while a moving dot traces the circuit to indicate running seconds. Additional redesigned TAG Heuer watch faces align visually with the Formula 1 theme.

The watch’s features can also be accessed through a Formula 1® app, including the full race calendar, session schedules, results, and driver and team standings, with real-time updates delivered via widgets without needing to open the app. The experience is further enhanced by custom sounds, branded icons, and notifications inspired by pit radio communications, along with animated bezel markings and circular complications that track each phase of a race weekend, including practice sessions (FP1, FP2, FP3), qualifying rounds (Q1, Q2, Q3), and race day.

Beyond motorsport integration, driving the watch is the TAG Heuer OS, which offers a full suite of smartwatch capabilities via the Calibre E5 platform. It includes health and fitness tracking features such as heart rate monitoring, step counting, calorie tracking, sleep tracking, breathing rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen measurement, and activity tracking across sports including running, cycling, swimming, hiking, golf, and workouts. A dual-band GNSS system (L1 + L5) supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, and Galileo for high-precision location tracking. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5100+ chipset and supports Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi, and MFi connectivity. Other features include call management (when paired with a smartphone), voice assistant control, media functions, notifications, and utility apps such as a stopwatch, timer, alarm, and calendar.

All of this is viewed on a 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that offers a resolution of 454 × 454 pixels (326 dpi) and is complemented by physical controls such as two pushers, a crown, a microphone, a speaker, and a haptic feedback system. Battery life is rated at up to two days under full performance or three days in low-power mode, with a full charge achieved in 90 minutes and a quick-charge function delivering one day of use in 30 minutes.

The 45 mm watch comes in a lightweight yet robust Grade 2 titanium case with brushed and sandblasted surfaces, coated in black DLC. It is completed with a black polished ceramic bezel engraved with Formula 1 race phases, a flat sapphire crystal, and a titanium caseback bearing the Formula 1 logo and integrated heart rate sensor. The crown combines black steel and rubber elements, while the pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock are crafted in DLC-coated steel with red lacquer accents. The watch is water-resistant to 50 metres.

Offered in a presentation box that reflects motorsport design cues with matte black finishes and chequered flag patterns, the watch is delivered with two strap options – a bi-material strap combining black leather with a carbon pattern over a rubber base, highlighted by red stitching inspired by Formula 1 colour codes, and a flexible textile strap with a self-fastening system designed for comfort during sports and sleep tracking. Both options are secured with a black DLC steel folding clasp with double safety push-buttons.

The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 45 mm x Formula 1® is priced at approx. INR 2,85,000.
