Breitling has joined forces with Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland for its new watch collection—the Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat is a duo of limited-edition timepieces featuring dials made from meteorite, called astral rock, with each dial showcasing a unique pattern.

First, there’s the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40, crafted in stainless steel with a platinum bezel, limited to just 500 pieces. The 40 mm case houses the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 32 movement, offering a second time zone, date function, and a 42-hour power reserve. Its cambered sapphire crystal is glare-proofed on both sides, and the watch is water-resistant up to 200 metres.

The meteorite dial is accompanied by silver-toned Super-LumiNova® markers and hands, and a red-gold GMT hand. Haaland’s personal initials on the central seconds hand lend a subtle yet personal signature. The watch is offered with either a black rubber strap inspired by Breitling’s signature rouleaux design or a matching stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp. The caseback is engraved with “ONE OF 500” and “ERLING HAALAND 9” surrounding an engraving of Haaland in his signature goal-celebration pose.

The second model, the Chronomat B01 42, is limited to just 250 pieces and is made in solid 18K red gold. This 42 mm model is powered by the in-house Caliber 01 movement, offering 1/4th-second timing, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, and a 70-hour power reserve. This time, the meteorite dial is paired with red-gold Super-LumiNova® elements and Haaland’s initials on the chronograph seconds hand. The caseback features “ONE OF 250” and “ERLING HAALAND 9” engravings. The watch is available with either a black rubber strap featuring an 18K red-gold folding clasp or an 18K red-gold rouleaux bracelet.

The final novelty in the new collection is an exclusive “ONE OF 5” edition, specially created for Erling Haaland and his inner circle. Crafted from 18K red gold, it showcases a meteorite dial, a transparent caseback revealing the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 movement, and personalized case-side engravings of Haaland’s name and jersey number. The caseback also features an image of Haaland striking his signature Lotus goal celebration pose. A private homage to his meteoric rise, this edition will not be released to the public.

What unites both timepieces is not just their celestial materials, but Haaland’s deep involvement in the creative process—from choosing the Chronomat platform to selecting the dial and case materials. “I wanted something one of a kind,” Haaland explains. “The Chronomat just clicked. It’s clean, all metal or with a rubber strap—it lets you go bold with the dial. And the meteorite makes each one different. You’re never going to see the same watch on someone else’s wrist.”

What we think -

Breitling can do no wrong under Georges Kern, and each of their releases  in the last 5 years have made serious headlines across the watch industry. This is how a flailing brand is turned around and given a new lease of life. Their collaborations have been absolutely on point too, and these new meteorite dial watches only give them more firepower.
