Marking the debut of its new Double Signed Program, Zenith has created the new G.F.J. Calibre 135 Double Signed with Naoya Hida & Co. The initiative invites select independent watchmakers to reinterpret some of the manufacture’s most iconic creations. The G.F.J. was launched at Watches and Wonders 2025 and resurrects one of Zenith's most celebrated movements – the manual-wound Calibre 135 from 1948 won a record-setting 235 observatory chronometer prizes – and is named after Zenith's founder, Georges Favre-Jacot. The 10-piece limited edition watch honours both Zenith's chronometric heritage and the restrained design philosophy of Japanese independent watchmaker Naoya Hida & Co.

Housed in a 39.5 mm platinum case, the watch draws inspiration from Naoya Hida's NH Type 1 and NH Type 2. Its dial is crafted from solid silver, with all inscriptions, including the double signatures of Zenith and Naoya Hida & Co., engraved using a traditional pantograph engraving machine. The three Arabic numerals are individually hand-finished by Japanese engraver Keisuke Kano before being filled with blue Japanese urushi lacquer. The slender hour and minute hands are milled from solid gold using CNC machining and hand-polished under the supervision of master watchmaker Kosuke Fujita, while the small seconds hand is heat-blued steel.

Turn the watch over, and through the sapphire caseback, you see the hand-wound Calibre 135, featuring the finishing introduced on the latest G.F.J. models. The movement combines broad Geneva stripes, hand-chamfered edges, and a dark ruthenium finish accented by yellow gold-coloured markings. Beating at 2.5 Hz, it is equipped with a large variable-inertia balance wheel, a Breguet hairspring, and Charles Fleck's double arrow-shaped regulator for fine adjustment. The modern re-engineering also introduces a 72-hour power reserve, a stop-seconds mechanism, spring-mounted jewel settings protecting the balance staff, and COSC chronometer certification, with accuracy regulated to +/-2 seconds per day. Additionally, the watch is water-resistant up to 50 metres.

The watch is delivered with three interchangeable straps, including one made from Himeji Kurozan leather finished with multiple layers of Japanese urushi lacquer, a second crafted from Wagyu leather by Kyoto Leather artisans, and a third produced from Japanese non-stretch indigo denim by Kaihara Denim in Hiroshima. Each strap is paired with a platinum pin buckle engraved with the G.F.J. initials.
