Hong Kong-based watch community Watch Ho & Co. is celebrating its 2nd anniversary this year. To commemorate the occasion, the collector’s group has teamed up with watch brand Selten to create a timepiece that speaks of the community’s camaraderie—presenting the Jui. This limited-edition watch is rooted in Cantonese culture, and the name “Jui,” meaning “to gather” in Cantonese, reflects the shared passion that unites enthusiasts.
The Jui comes in a 39mm stainless steel case made of 316L steel. The centrepiece of the watch is its Tahitian black mother-of-pearl dial, CNC-machined with a mountain-inspired pattern—based on the motif from ancient Chinese military armour, symbolising unity, safety, and strength. This pattern on the Jui’s dial represents the bond of the watch enthusiasts’ community.
Due to the organic nature of mother-of-pearl, achieving consistency is challenging, with each dial hand-selected for its ability to reflect green, red, violet, and blue hues under shifting light. A subtle Chinese numeral “二” (2) is engraved into the chapter ring, marking Watch Ho & Co.’s second anniversary. The skeletonised sword hands, frosted for legibility and balance, continue the armour theme.
Beating inside the Jui is the Miyota 9039 automatic movement, running at 4 Hz frequency with a 42-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback etched with a phrase in traditional Chinese characters, translating to “a place where people, time, and stories come together.” The typography is inspired by the lettering style of Hong Kong street signs, reinforcing the local cultural connection. The rotor has been customised by Selten, and the caseback engraving includes the club’s motto, “Good Vibes Only.”
The watch is flanked by a strap supplied by Hong Kong strapmaker Has No Bounds, crafted in rich brown leather with a British Racing Green lining, reflecting both the club’s colours and the Chinese characters on the caseback. The watch also comes with a leather travel pouch, priced at approx. INR 96,000. The watch will only be produced once the pre-order window closes, with no additional runs planned in this configuration.
