Oris sets the new Aquis Date 36.50 mm watches with lab-grown diamonds

Oris has unveiled four diamond-stud additions to its Aquis Date 36.50 mm collection. First launched in 2024, the Aquis Date 36.50 mm offered a more compact and jewel-like interpretation of Oris’s popular dive watch. With the 2025 update, Oris introduces lab-grown diamonds into the design—a first for the model. Depending on the version, either the dial is set with 33 brilliant-cut diamonds (three per index at 11 positions), or the bezel is fully set with 44 sparkling stones. All diamonds used are conflict-free and lab-grown, in line with Oris’s commitment to responsible watchmaking.

Despite the added glamour, the watch retains its tool-watch credentials. Housed in a stainless steel case with a thickness of just under 12 mm, the Aquis Date Diamonds is water-resistant to an impressive 300 metres. It features a unidirectional rotating bezel either with a black ceramic insert or a diamond-set version. The dial is topped with a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inside, and a mineral glass tops the caseback. A screw-down crown with protective guards and a screwed stainless steel caseback with mineral glass further ensure its durability.

The timepieces are offered in two dial options—a classic black lacquer or a radiant crème mother-of-pearl. The black dial comes with diamond hour markers, while the crème version leans more into full jewellery territory with the diamond-set bezel. Hands and indices on all models are filled with Super-LumiNova® for legibility in low-light conditions.

Powering the watches is the automatic Oris calibre 733, based on the reliable Sellita SW200-1. The movement offers a 41-hour power reserve and runs at a frequency of 4 Hz. It drives the centre seconds with a stop-seconds mechanism, a date display with corrector (at 6 o’clock), and a fine timing device for precise timekeeping.

Each watch is offered with a choice of a multi-piece stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap in black or cream, both equipped with a Quick-change functionality and closed with a folding clasp.

The price for Aquis Date Diamonds 36.50 mm starts at ₹2,26,560–₹2,45,440 for the black dial variants, and ₹3,49,280–₹3,69,120 for the crème mother-of-pearl editions with diamond bezels.
