Oris marks the Year of the Fire Horse 2026 with a limited edition timepiece
Oris marks the Year of the Fire Horse 2026 with a limited edition timepiece

Oris has announced the Year of the Horse Limited Edition timepiece to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse, which begins on 17 February 2026. Limited to 88 pieces, the watch reflects the fiery theme with a crimson red theme and Oris’s powerful Calibre 113.

The watch arrives in a 43 mm multi-piece stainless steel case with a thickness of 13.1 mm and a 50 mm lug-to-lug span. Capped by a domed sapphire crystal, the deep red dial sets the tone of the watch, reflecting the fire element associated with 2026. Fiery red sub-dials contrast against the darker background, while applied indices and Super-LumiNova-coated hands ensure legibility. Around the edge of the dial, a week scale complements the calendar display. A distinctive detail appears on the non-linear power-reserve indicator at 3 o’clock, where horse motifs symbolise the state of wind - a galloping horse when the mainspring is fully charged and a resting horse when it is nearing depletion.

Through the transparent caseback, the hand-wound Oris Calibre 113, one of the brand’s most complex manufacture movements, powers the watch. Part of the Calibre 110 family, which debuted in 2014 and marked Oris’s return to in-house movement development, the Calibre 113 builds on earlier models such as the Calibre 111 and 112 by adding an advanced business calendar. It offers a whopping 10-day (240-hour) power reserve, stored in a single barrel, and beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz). The movement drives the central hours and minutes, with additional hands for the week and month, a small seconds at 9 o’clock, a date window at 9 o’clock, a day window below 12 o’clock, and a power-reserve indicator sub-dial at 3 o’clock. This movement also features fine timing adjustment and a stop-seconds mechanism.

The watch is water-resistant up to 50 metres and is flanked with a dark brown cordovan leather strap made from horsehide, secured by a stainless steel folding clasp. Limited to 88 pieces - a number associated with double luck and prosperity in Chinese culture - each watch is delivered in a special wooden presentation box.

The Year of the Fire Horse Limited Edition (Ref. 01 113 7806 4088-Set) is priced at approx. INR 7,50,000.
