Omega and Swatch’s most hyped collaboration, the MoonSwatch, has taken a golden turn with the duo unveiling the newest timepiece in the line – the MoonSwatch Mission to the Moon 1969 is a limited edition chronograph of 1,969 pieces, celebrating the Apollo 11 Moon landing while paying tribute to Omega’s iconic 1969 gold Speedmaster.

As with other MoonSwatches, this watch also gets a bioceramic build, but with a comparatively good amount of gold. There’s genuine 18K Moonshine™ Gold – Omega's proprietary gold alloy – for the dial, hands, crown, and pushers. This is created by melting down unused Omega spare parts dating back to 1969, giving the watch a historical link to one of watchmaking’s most celebrated space watches. Furthermore, this gold measures 11 grams, again referencing to Apollo 11.

The case overall measures 42 mm in diameter, 13.25 mm in thickness, and 47.3 mm lug-to-lug. It is paired with a black rubber strap with Velcro® closure and bioceramic loop. The gold dial features a vertical satin finish with recessed chronograph counters fitted with black hands and Arabic numerals, while gold bevelled indexes with black varnished interiors, period-correct Omega logos, typography, and gold hallmarks used in 1969 further reinforce the vintage-inspired design. A black bioceramic bezel carries a gold-coloured tachymeter scale protected by an anti-scratch coating, and the battery cover is decorated with a gold-coloured Moon featuring the date of the Apollo 11 landing alongside a footprint representing the astronauts' first steps on the Sea of Tranquility.

Like every watch in the Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection, the chronograph carries OMEGA x Swatch branding, the Speedmaster logo and the MoonSwatch logo, while also featuring a box-shaped biosourced crystal with an etched Swatch "S" at its centre, circular finishing on the dial's outer ring and recessed sub-dials, and the collection's distinctive Bioceramic construction. The watch is powered by a quartz movement and offers 30 metres of water resistance.

Instead of a traditional retail launch, Swatch is introducing the watch through its new Electronic Swatch Timepiece Application (ESTA) system. Applications opened on July 16, running till July 21, 2026. Applicants are required to complete the process within 2 hours and 15 minutes, matching the amount of time astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin spent exploring the lunar surface during the Apollo 11 mission. Those whose applications are approved will be invited to purchase one of the 1,969 watches from their selected Swatch store and will have 32 days to complete the purchase by presenting their approved ESTA confirmation and a valid photo ID. The watch will be presented in special packaging.
