Hublot expands the Square Bang line with a bold new model
Hublot expands the Square Bang line with a bold new model

In 2022, Hublot made a bold addition to its Big Bang family with the launch of the 42 mm Square Bang, distinguished by its unconventional square-shaped case. Now, the brand expands the collection with a new model, the Square Bang Tourbillon 4-Day Power Reserve.

This latest creation introduces several firsts to the Square Bang series. It’s the first model to feature two central hands and the first to house a tourbillon-regulated movement - the entirely in-house developed MHUB6023 manual-winding calibre. It also debuts a fully square movement architecture, where every bridge and component adheres to a strict right-angled layout.

To maintain visual symmetry and enhance the square aesthetic, the movement’s key elements are strategically placed along the four edges of the case - the winding mechanism is positioned on the right, the power reserve indicator on the left (at 9 o’clock), the barrel at the top, and the tourbillon at the bottom.

The 42 mm case is constructed entirely from 3D carbon, a high-tech composite material with interwoven horizontal and vertical patterns - another first for the Square Bang collection. This motif extends across the bezel, caseback, and strap, unifying the entire design. As with other Hublot timepieces, the watch features six H-shaped screws and is water-resistant to 30 metres.

At its heart beats the MHUB6023 manual-winding movement, operating at 3 Hz and offering an impressive 96-hour power reserve. The integrated tourbillon includes a silicon escapement, enhancing resistance to magnetism and thermal variation.

Completing the watch is a rubber strap, fastened with a black ceramic and titanium deployant buckle. Hublot’s "One Click" system allows for easy strap changes.

Unlike previous releases, the Square Bang Tourbillon 4-Day Power Reserve is not a limited edition and is priced at approximately INR 98,15,000.

What we think -

Hubliot is fast becoming the new Master of Materials as the use of 3D Carbon in this latest release proves, and this is not based on just this one novelty but an enduring effort over the last few years. Paired with top grade Tourbillions the brand is truly stepping up their game.
