Hublot has unveiled the latest addition to its Essential series—the Classic Fusion Essential Taupe, available in 42 mm and 45 mm case sizes. This marks the fourth release in the Essential line—and the first to step away from the all-grey palette that defined previous editions.
The Essential series was presented as a more restrained expression of Hublot’s usually bold design language, in contrast to the brand’s reputation for using materials like brightly coloured ceramics, synthetic sapphire, and even upcycled Nespresso pods. The Essential Taupe introduces a new chromatic aesthetic while maintaining the line’s minimalist ethos.
Crafted from titanium, the case is polished and satin-brushed, and topped with sapphire crystal on both sides. The case construction offers the watch a water resistance of 50 metres.
The dial comes in a subtle warm sunray-finished taupe, distinguishing this model from its grey predecessors. A black-on-white date window at 3 o’clock brings functional contrast, and faceted, applied hour markers complete the clean design.
The taupe continues onto the textured rubber-and-fabric hybrid strap, secured with a steel folding buckle.
Beating inside is the HUB1112 calibre, based on the Sellita SW300, which delivers a 48-hour power reserve.
Priced at INR 7,60,963 (approx.), the Hublot Classic Fusion Essential Taupe is available exclusively on the brand's online store.
What we think -
Mentioning the base calibre upon which Hublot puts the ‘in-house’ tag is important to us, unlike the brand’s PR machine. Whatever said, this is probably the most wearable Hublot in many years.
