Helios Luxe brings Swiss independent brand Auguste Reymond to India

Helios Luxe by Titan Company Ltd. has partnered with independent Swiss watchmaker Auguste Reymond to be its official retailer in India. This exclusive partnership is aimed at strengthening the brand’s presence in the accessible luxury watch segment in the country. As part of its growth strategy, Helios Luxe plans to expand to 100 boutiques over the next five years and more than double its market share to 20 per cent, targeting a turnover of ₹2,000 crore within three years - and Auguste Reymond is part of this strategy.

Auguste Reymond traces its watchmaking roots back to 1898, when founder Auguste Reymond established his namesake company - also known as ARSA - in Tramelan, Switzerland. What began as a small pocket-watch workshop quickly grew into a major regional employer, exceeding 100 staff by 1910 and more than 300 by the 1960s. Early milestones included the opening of its own factory in 1903, the acquisition of movement maker Val de Joux Watch Co. in 1906 (later becoming Valjoux SA), and a reputation for technical innovation, with early adoption of sealing gaskets, shock absorbers, automatic movements, and complications such as chronographs, alarms, and moon phases. The brand earned multiple international awards for precision and reliability, including gold medals at the Brussels World Exhibition (1910) and the Swiss National Exhibition in Bern (1914).

A defining moment came in 1926 with the acquisition of UNITAS, through which the manufacture developed more than 100 calibres that became widely used across the Swiss watch industry. Over the decades, Auguste Reymond expanded into jewellery watches, astronomy-inspired timepieces, watches for the quartz era, 1990s jazz music-themed pieces, and later distinct complications such as the “orbital moon” module. In 2019, under new owner Philip W. A. Klingenberg, the brand entered a renewed chapter with production centred in Nidau, reaffirming its focus on mechanical watchmaking and heritage-driven design.

Today, Auguste Reymond’s catalogue has four core collections. The flagship collection, Origin, showcases bold aesthetics and the UNITAS movement, led by statement models like the Origin Lunar, which flaunts moon-surface-inspired dials. The Unity collection focuses on contemporary designs, standing out with an integrated strap design. Heritage 1898 pays tribute to the brand’s founding year, featuring classic dress watches. The Magellan or Tramelan collection takes a sportier approach, inspired by lunar, navigation, and travel themes.

The launch was attended by celebrities from the television and Bollywood industry, including Indian director and film producer Zoya Akhtar, actress and popular TV personality Archana Puran Singh, actor and television host Meiyang Chang, actor Sudhanshu Pandey, and actor Taher Shabbir, among others. However, the centre stage was taken by Auguste Reymond’s Origin Lunar, which mesmerised the guests with its detailed lunar-surface engraving, enhanced by a Super-LumiNova–infused bezel. As part of its India chapter, 23 limited-edition models across the brand’s four collections will be available exclusively at Helios Luxe. The core range of 21 watches is priced between ₹1.3 lakh and ₹2.5 lakh, while two statement Origin models are priced at ₹4.5 lakh and ₹7.5 lakh.

What we think -

Quite heartening to see cool and storied independent watchmakers come to India, and with the backing of Titan and Helios behind them it will be a wonderful addition to the country.
