All the watch news, reviews, videos you want, brought to you from fellow collectors
The Glashütte Original PanoMaticCalendar Skeleton Blue of Dawn is the latest evolution of the 2022 PanoMaticCalendar Annual Calendar, now reinterpreted with an openworked construction and a striking deep-blue aesthetic.
The watch is housed in a 42 mm platinum case, measuring 12.4 mm in height with a lug-to-lug measurement of 49.28 mm. The case alternates between brushed and polished finishes, paired with a platinum knurled crown and a recessed corrector for the moon phase. Both front and back are fitted with sapphire crystals, and the water resistance is rated to 50 metres.
The dial, finished in the brand’s ‘Blue of Dawn’ hue, is skeletonised to reveal the intricacies of the in-house movement beneath. The display follows Glashütte Original’s signature off-centre arrangement—hours and minutes with small seconds to the left, a moon phase at 2 o’clock, the Panorama Date at 4 o’clock, and a retrograde month display between 3 and 6 o’clock along the periphery of the dial. The applied markers are in 18k white gold, and the blued hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®, while vinyl-style grooves add depth to the timekeeping subdial.
Driving the watch is the Calibre 92-11, an openworked version of the 92-09 used in the inaugural PanoMaticCalendar. This in-house automatic movement beats at 4 Hz, incorporates a silicon balance spring, and provides a robust 100-hour power reserve. The movement features a skeletonised top plate and traditional Glashütte decoration, including a double swan-neck fine adjustment and the brand’s distinctive ‘Double G’ rotor.
The PanoMaticCalendar Skeleton Blue of Dawn is delivered on a choice of a blue Louisiana alligator leather strap (Ref. 1-92-11-01-03-61) or a synthetic fabric strap (Ref. 1-92-11-01-03-64), both secured by a platinum folding clasp.
The timepiece is limited to 150 pieces worldwide and is priced at approx. INR 38,60,000.
What we think -
We are loving what Glashutte Original is doing for their 180th Anniversary. One winner after another, and there is still a quarter to go!
