Bringing an electrifying update to its Chief Date line, Favre Leuba has unveiled the new Chief Date Royal Purple—introducing a bold shade of purple that stands out for its vintage royal flair.
Crafted in stainless steel, the 40 mm cushion-shaped case features recessed flanks and alternating brushed and polished surfaces, staying true to the Chief line’s distinctive profile. The case is just 10.81 mm thick, and a screw-down crown ensures water resistance up to 100 metres. Its seamless silhouette is completed with integrated lugs and bracelet.
The radiant Royal Purple dial is finished with a shimmering sunburst texture and Favre Leuba’s signature high-relief hourglass motif. The deep colour plays dynamically with light, complemented by rhodium-plated hands and faceted hour markers—all coated with Super-LumiNova® C1 X1 for exceptional legibility in low light. A date window is subtly positioned at 3 o’clock.
The watch is powered by the automatic FLD03 calibre, developed in partnership with La Joux-Perret. Beating at 4 Hz with a 68-hour power reserve, the movement is visible through the sapphire caseback and showcases finishing such as Geneva stripes, soleil brushing, colimaçonnage, and thermally blued screws—completed by a custom skeletonised rotor.
The Chief Date Royal Purple is available on an integrated stainless steel bracelet with alternating brushed and polished finishes, secured by a butterfly clasp engraved with the brand’s logo, or on a vibrant purple FKM rubber strap with a matching engraved pin buckle for a sportier touch.
The steel bracelet version is priced at INR 2,38,000, while the rubber strap version is INR 2,28,000.
What we think -
This is a revamp in style! The dial on the Chief Date in all its 3D beauty is now even more alluring with the sunburst purple. This piece, thankfully not a limited edition, will be a runaway hit.
