Bell & Ross has added a new reference to its professional dive watch line with the BR-03 Diver Black Bronze. It is the first time that the brand's dive watch line has been offered in a bronze case with a black dial and matching black bezel insert. Although bronze has appeared in earlier iterations of the BR-03-92 Diver series, this specific combination had not previously been executed within the collection.
Built on the lines of the updated BR-03 Diver introduced in 2024, its square case measures 42 mm with a thickness of 12.3 mm. The case is crafted from marine-grade CuSn8 bronze, an alloy composed of 92% copper and 8% tin, renowned for its durability and the natural patina it develops over time. It is further refined with satin-brushed surfaces and polished accents. Complementing it is the unidirectional rotating bezel, also in bronze, fitted with a polished black ceramic insert engraved with a graduated 60-minute scale filled with Super-LumiNova X1 to ensure legibility underwater. Other dive watch features include a screw-down crown with protective guards and a solid steel screw-down caseback, ensuring water resistance of up to 300 metres – tested to meet ISO 6425 standards for dive watches.
Under the thick anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the dial is finished in glossy black lacquer, creating a contrast against the warm tone of the bronze case. It features “baignoire-style” hour markers and skeletonised hour and minute hands, all treated with white Super-LumiNova X1, which glows green in low light. Finally, a very small, rounded date window appears between 4 and 5 o’clock, not disturbing the dive watch aesthetic but serving its purpose.
Driving this timepiece is the automatic BR-CAL.302-1 movement. Based on the Sellita SW300-1 calibre, it operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of approximately 54 hours.
The watch is delivered with two strap options: a black rubber strap suited for diving activities and a black ultra-resistant synthetic canvas strap for everyday wear. Both are secured with a bronze pin buckle.
The BR-03 Diver Black Bronze (Ref. BR03A-D-BL-BR/SRB) is limited to 999 pieces and is priced at INR 5,78,900.
