All the watch news, reviews, videos you want, brought to you from fellow collectors
Behrens and Konstantin Chaykin have reunited for a fun 2025 collaborative timepiece, the Behrens x Chaykin Kremlin Edition, limited to 99 pieces. The timepiece brings together Chinese watch brand Behrens’s creative technical side and Chaykin’s whimsical joker time display—with a twist—a ‘loony’ seconds complication that traces a smiling arc. The seconds hand’s tip, shaped like a spade suit symbol, moves along a curved path, echoing a Chinese stone mill (shi mo). The two came together for the first time in 2022 with the Behrens x Konstantin Chaykin Ref. BHR028, presented in three case versions—titanium, blackened titanium, and “ice” crystallized titanium.
The Behrens x Chaykin Kremlin Edition is made in a 42 mm case crafted from textured grey-black carbon fiber composite with red spots—the watch is lightweight and robust, offering modern aerospace-grade performance. The dial’s components feature brushed, chamfered, and polished finishes, with the character’s “eyes” (hour and minute displays) treated with luminescent coating. Beneath the nose-shaped blackened bridge lies the custom mechanics driving the loony seconds display. The dial is capped with a domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating, while the black-coated stainless steel crown and exhibition sapphire caseback complete the edgy look.
The timepiece runs on the Swiss-made Sellita SW200 automatic movement, featuring black-coated bridges and a custom rotor bearing Côtes circulaires and radial brushing. The movement offers a power reserve of 38 hours and beats at 4 Hz using a lever escapement, ensuring precision alongside playful aesthetics.
Flanking the watch is a red synthetic fluorocarbon rubber strap, secured with a titanium Behrens pin buckle.
What we think -
Man, these collab watches are so cool! We wish there were official points of sale for Konstantin Chaykin and Behrens in India. Both names being powerhouses of innovative timetelling mechanisms are truly building something bigger than themselves. We wish them the best for more such amazing releases.
