Exploring new material dimensions, ArtyA has presented its Purity Curvy case in titanium. The new Purity Curvy HMS Mirror Titanium is now ultra-light while being robust and features the movement with the brand’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’ escapement. Alongside titanium, the watch has also been offered with a black DLC-treated case, a sapphire case, and a NanoSapphire case, which changes colour with light.
The tonneau-shaped case measures 38.5 mm x 43 mm with a thickness of 12 mm and has a strong matte finish achieved through hand polishing and sandblasting. A transparent DLC coating further enhances its scratch resistance, lifting the titanium’s hardness from 400 HV to 1,200 HV. A mirror-polished contour along the edges gives a visual contrast to the matte surfaces, creating a subtle, refined detail.
Housed inside is ArtyA’s in-house hand-wound Purity Curvy Stairway to Heaven calibre, specifically designed for this case. It features a minimalist HMS layout (hours, minutes, and seconds), equipped with the Stairway to Heaven escapement—inspired by the title of Led Zeppelin’s rock anthem—which is suspended at the centre of the movement. The movement is regulated via the crown at 12 o’clock, and it operates at 4 Hz and boasts a 72-hour power reserve. The escapement is finely regulated using peripheral weights on the balance wheel, while twin barrels, fitted with longer mainsprings, deliver smoother torque and more linear energy release. The calibre is engraved, the bridges are frosted with cast iron microbeads and bevelled by hand, creating a raw yet refined texture, and the barrel drums with flowing contours echo the soft arcs of the case.
An optional semi-reflective mirror caseback allows light into the movement while concealing the wrist behind it, reflecting the components of the movement for a clearer look. However, the sapphire crystal and NanoSapphire cases give a see-through view of the watch’s architecture. Time is displayed at 6 o’clock, with sleek hands floating above the movement. The watch is completed by a nubuck leather strap closed with a pin buckle. The titanium models are water-resistant up to 50 metres and the sapphire crystal models up to 30 metres.
Limited to just 99 pieces, the Purity Curvy HMS Mirror Titanium is priced at approx. INR 26,50,500 for the titanium model, the sapphire version at approx. INR 45,60,500, and the NanoSapphire at approx. INR 74,90,500.
