Swiss watchmaker Arnold & Son, which is named after its founder and English watchmaker John Arnold, has revisited its British roots to create the latest addition to its Perpetual Moon 41.5 series—the Cliff Grey Edition pays homage to the birthplace of John Arnold—Bodmin, Cornwall—with a colour inspired by the soft, hazy light of the coastal cliffs of Cornwall.
The 41.5 mm timepiece is crafted in red gold with a slim bezel and houses a dial decorated with a unique Stellar Rays pattern. At the centre of the dial is a large mother-of-pearl moon, with shadows hand-painted to look realistic. It is coated in Super-LumiNova for a glow-in-the-dark effect. The moon sits against a deep blue sky, also featuring hand-painted constellations—Ursa Major and Cassiopeia—which historically helped sailors navigate by night.
Powering the watch is the manual-winding calibre A&S1512, which runs at a 3 Hz frequency and offers an impressive 90-hour power reserve. The movement not only drives the hours, minutes, and moon phase on the dial, but also a second moon phase indicator on the case back. The movement is finished with Geneva stripes, chamfered bridges, and blued screws, all visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The timepiece is paired with a hand-stitched grey alligator strap, completed with an 18K red gold buckle.
The Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon 41.5 Cliff Grey Edition (Ref. 1GLBR.N01A.C0246A) is a limited edition of 28 pieces and is priced at approx. INR 39,56,000.
