Swiss watchmaker Angelus has unveiled the Cronografo Telemetro Blu Ministeriale, a limited-edition monopusher chronograph created specifically for the Italian market in collaboration with a select group of Italian retailers. The timepiece embraces one of Italy’s most recognisable official colours, the Blu Ministeriale, a deep and understated shade of blue long associated with Italian public institutions, official vehicles, and ceremonial state traditions. The watch has been offered in two variations – a 10-piece limited edition in 18K yellow gold and a 20-piece edition in steel.

Standing at the intersection of Swiss watchmaking and Italian elegance, the project was conceived in partnership with Italy and for Italy, featuring limited production and exclusive distribution. The watch is available exclusively through four family-owned Italian retailers – Verga 1947 in Milan, Montres & Bijoux in Genoa, Camparini Gioielli in Reggio Emilia, and P. Bastiani in Trieste. The collaboration highlights the important role these retailers have played within Italy’s collector community over the years.

The Cronografo Telemetro Blu Ministeriale is based on the Chronographe Télémètre platform, a model that gained industry recognition after winning the Chronograph Prize at the 2025 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

At its centre is the Blu Ministeriale dial. Deep and rich in appearance, the shade changes subtly under different lighting conditions while maintaining an understated and sophisticated character. This dial features a domed construction with a grained central section, a satin-finished flange, a diamond-cut fillet, and azuré-finished chronograph counters. Gilded 3N numerals and hour markers provide contrast and warmth, while red accents subtly complement the overall restrained appeal.

The watch is housed in a 37 mm case, maintaining compact proportions while delivering a strong wrist presence. Buyers can choose between an 18K 3N yellow-gold version or a stainless-steel model. Both feature a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, a flat sapphire caseback, and water resistance rated to 30 metres.

Just like the Chronographe Télémètre, the monopusher chronograph integrates its single chronograph pusher directly into the crown. It displays hours, minutes, a 30-minute chronograph counter, and a telemeter scale calibrated over 20 kilometres, just like its classic predecessor.

Powering the timepiece is Angelus’ in-house manually wound integrated chronograph movement, Calibre A5000. It incorporates a traditional column-wheel mechanism and a horizontal clutch architecture, and operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) with a 42-hour power reserve. The main plate is circular-grained and 3N gilded, accompanied by gilded bridges with Côtes de Genève decoration and chamfered edges, circular-grained wheels, and polished screws.

Each watch features a caseback engraving reading “Uno di Dieci” or “Uno di Venti,” translating to “One of Ten” and “One of 20,” respectively. In a nod to historical watchmaking traditions, selected pieces may also feature the signature of one of the four participating Italian retailers on the dial. This practice recalls a period during the twentieth century when prominent retailers frequently added their names to watches that later became highly collectable and historically significant timepieces.

The watch is paired with an ink-blue alligator leather strap and a matching pin buckle crafted in either 18K gold or stainless steel, depending on the case material.

The Angelus Cronografo Telemetro Blu Ministeriale is priced at approx. INR 46,55,000 for the yellow-gold version and approx. INR 24,85,000 for the stainless-steel model.
