In 2000, Italo Fontana established a brand whose designs were inspired by a navy pilot’s watch that his grandfather, Ilvo Fontana, designed in 1942. Since then, U-Boat has emerged as a brand with a bold identity and functional timepieces. The new U-65 TEK (Ref. 3365) stays true to its DNA and retains the core architecture of the parent collection – the U-65.

The model features a 44 mm case crafted from PVD-coated 316L stainless steel and filled with oil as part of the Oil Immersion system. This oil-filled case enhances the depth effect, improving colour intensity and readability. A visible air bubble helps compensate for temperature changes within the system.

It showcases movable lugs for a more comfortable fit, a caseback-mounted time-setting push button, and U-Boat’s Locking Ring System, which allows quick battery replacement. A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the watch offers water resistance of up to 50 metres.

The dial features three overlapping layers finished with a printed circuit board (PCB) effect. The tone-on-tone U-shaped index and the applied metallic numerals are filled with beige Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility. The black metal hour and minute hands are also filled with the same lume, which not only ensures readability but also gives it a unique tech-inspired look.
Driving the watch is the Swiss-made Ronda 756 quartz movement, which is lubricated in an oil bath as part of the Oil Immersion system. It powers the hour and minute functions. The watch is paired with a smooth black strap with a screw-fastened buckle.
The U-Boat U-65 TEK is priced at approximately INR 2,30,000.
