Marking its return as the Official Timekeeper of Formula 1, TAG Heuer has created the new Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf. The timepiece expands the brand’s long-running collaboration with Gulf Oil, featuring the livery’s distinctive blue and orange racing colours. This is the fourth edition created by the two brands and is limited to 1,000 pieces.

Gulf's blue and orange colours became famous on endurance racing cars, particularly at Le Mans, before gaining wider recognition through Steve McQueen's 1971 film Le Mans. Carried onto the dial, the black opaline base is framed by a blue running track, while the blue and orange stripes run vertically across the dial. The black flange continues the striped design and incorporates the 60-second and minute scale. Three recessed black opaline counters are positioned at 12, 6, and 9 o'clock. The 30-minute chronograph counter at 12 o'clock and the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock both feature orange-lacquered hands, while the running seconds display at 9 o'clock uses a blue-lacquered hand. A date window is positioned at 3 o'clock.

The applied rhodium-plated indexes are filled with white Super-LumiNova, which emits a green glow in low light. The black-lacquered hour and minute hands are also coated with white Super-LumiNova, while the central chronograph seconds hand is finished in orange lacquer to match the Gulf colour scheme. The white TAG Heuer logo and "Formula 1 Automatic" text complete the dial. It is further outlined by a fixed forged-carbon tachymeter bezel featuring Gulf branding, with an irregular surface pattern unique to each piece. Beneath it, an orange ring is positioned between the bezel and the case, adding another visual accent inspired by Gulf's racing colours.

The 44 mm watch is made from Grade 2 titanium with a sandblasted finish, chosen for its combination of strength and reduced weight. The case is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal featuring anti-reflective treatment. The screw-down crown, positioned at 3 o'clock, is made from black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium with an orange-lacquered detail, while the shaped chronograph pushers are also crafted from black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium with sandblasted and fine-brushed finishes. On the flip side, the caseback is secured with screws and engraved with the Gulf logo. Water resistance is rated at 200 metres.

Inside is TAG Heuer's automatic Calibre 16 chronograph movement, based on the Sellita SW500. The movement beats at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of 42 hours. The watch is paired with a three-row Grade 2 titanium bracelet featuring a sandblasted finish and a matching folding clasp with double safety push-buttons, an adjustment-link extension, and TAG Heuer engraving.
Presented in dedicated packaging finished in Gulf's signature blue and orange colours, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf is priced at approximately INR 7 lakhs.
