Independent Swiss brand Mc Onsen has launched the new Cybex Collection, a range of children’s analogue models that features learning, design, and safety. The new collection is apt to help children understand and learn how to tell time while giving parents extra peace of mind through a built-in QR safety system. Mc Onsen has developed many technical products over the years, launched the first watchphones in 2008 and introduced the Vibrablue bone-conduction glasses in 2009. With the Cybex collection, the brand has brought an advancement to children’s watches by adding an easy-to-use safety feature.
Every watch in the Cybex Collection features a stainless-steel caseback with a laser-engraved QR Code linked to Mc Onsen’s Find My Family web app. By any chance, if a child loses contact with the guardians, anyone can scan the QR Code with a smartphone directly, without downloading any app, to get access to the required information and contact details of the guardians. The watch also features an acrylic crystal and offers water resistance up to 30 metres, making it suitable for everyday use.

The watches are designed in such a way that they make learning easy and fun. The colourful dials feature large numerals that are easy to read, while the hands are clearly marked ‘‘Hour’’ and ‘‘Minute’’ to differentiate between the two with ease. The simple dial design makes it easier for children to learn and read an analogue watch. In addition to the watch, learning materials are also provided to make the process a fun learning experience.
The main highlight of the collection is its Emergency QR Safety System. The laser-engraved QR Code works with the Find My Family app and allows quick access to the guardian’s details after scanning. The system is independent of GPS, SIM card, or mobile network and does not need any charging or setup, which keeps the watch simple in addition to being a safety feature for children.
The collection is available in two individual series with a total of 14 colour options. The Tredi line features fun designs inspired by nature and fantasy and is paired with textured three-dimensional straps, while the Chou-Chou line has a more modern look and is paired with lightweight nylon straps for everyday comfort.
The Mc Onsen Cybex Collection is priced between INR 2,400 and INR 4,500.
