Jacob & Co. has added another India-special timepiece to its Epic X collection – the Mahadev Edition, inspired by Lord Shiva, embodies the concept of time as a continuous cycle of creation, existence, transformation, and renewal. The watch follows the Epic X Ram Janmabhoomi Edition created in 2024 to honour the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. However, the foundation was laid by the Epic X India Edition watch presented in 2023 that showcased Indian monuments like the Taj Mahal, India Gate, Gateway of India, and Qutub Minar.
Building on the same model, the watch has been crafted in a 44 mm Epic X architecture featuring X-shaped bridges and a skeletonised construction. It is decked with symbols associated with Shiva – there’s the damru (Shiva’s hourglass-shaped drum), trishul (the deity’s three-pronged trident), the Om symbol (“ॐ”), and the inscription “Om Namah Shivaya” on the flange, alongside an image of the deity. Traditionally associated with the rhythm and vibration of Shiva’s Tandava (the cosmic dance performed by the deity), the damru is used here as a visual connection between movement, energy, and time. The three points of the trishul represent the past, present and future, giving the symbol a direct temporal connection. The Om symbol is superimposed on the trident, while Shiva appears on the opposite side of the display.

Shiva and the surrounding elements are treated with Super-LumiNova, producing a blue glow in low-light conditions that represents divine energy and spiritual awakening. Blue accents continue onto the flange and the perforated, honeycomb-patterned rubber strap.
The watch is made with titanium and is powered by Jacob & Co.’s in-house manual-winding skeleton movement, JCAM02, which operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a 48-hour power reserve. The finishing on the movement can be viewed from the sapphire caseback, which includes vertical graining, Clous de Paris guilloché, and perlage.
The number of pieces to be produced and the price have not been disclosed yet.
