Founded by Swiss watchmaker Georges Schaeren in 1918, Mido has evolved into a reputable brand for crafting high-end and innovative Swiss watches, including the development of the Aquadura sealing system, the Multifort collection, and the Ocean Star series. Launched in 1944, the Ocean Star collection introduced numerous timepieces, including the monocoque case, decompression timer, and Diver 600, and is now introducing the Ocean Star 200 that serves its usage both above and underwater.

The watch features a 41 mm case crafted from 316L stainless steel that has a satin finish and polished surfaces, measures 11.7 mm in thickness with a lug width of 21 mm, and weighs 172 grams. The model also features double anti-reflective coating on both sides for clarity and scratch resistance.

Five models have been offered in four dial colours – blue, white, silver, and black – with grained surfaces and paired with matching bezels. The textured dial is designed for clear readability in varying light conditions. It features applied indexes and hands which are coated with Super-LumiNova to improve visibility in low-light conditions; with this, a day and date aperture is also present at 3 o’clock.

The watch is powered by an automatic Mido Calibre 80 movement that offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour or 3 Hz. The movement features a Nivachron balance spring and a titanium-based alloy, which enhances precision and reliability.

Pairing with the watch is a stainless-steel bracelet or a black rubber strap for a black dial version, secured with a folding clasp with a safety lock, double push-buttons, and a diver extension for a comfortable fit over a diving suit.

The Mido Ocean Star 200 is priced at approximately INR 95,000 for the bracelet models and approx. INR 90,000 for the rubber strap model.
