For TimeForArt 2026, Jaquet Droz has unveiled Les Volumes du Temps, a unique timepiece that presents hours and minutes through a three-dimensional sculptural dial rather than conventional hands. The watch has been created at the brand’s atelier in La Chaux-de-Fonds and incorporates the beauty of blue Grand Feu champlevé enamel. Fiona Djukanovic, a student at the Académie de Meuron in Neuchâtel, has designed the timepiece, which will be offered at the TimeForArt charity auction in New York on December 5, 2026, with proceeds supporting contemporary artists through the Swiss Institute.

Jaquet Droz brought together its artists and artisans to develop a shared aesthetic language, resulting in a dial that uses sculpted volumes and contrasting perspectives to guide the eye towards the time display.

At its centre are two opposing sculptural elements that form an X-shaped composition. Their three-dimensional geometry combines two straight sides with a gently curved third side that follows the profile of the case. The volumes rise to their highest point at the centre, bringing the wearer’s attention towards the hours and minutes before gradually tapering towards the edges. Their surfaces are hand-engraved with a sunray pattern before being enamelled.

On either side of the central structure, broad champlevé enamel surfaces are composed of approximately 40 parallelepiped forms in varying shades of blue. Each is finished with hand-applied Grand Feu enamel, creating variations in depth and tone across the dial. Their tops then gradually slope towards the time display.

Time is indicated by two off-centred dragging discs for the hours and minutes. Both discs feature hand-applied sunray finishing, as does the central circle that covers each disc and points to the relevant hour or minute.
The 18K white-gold case measures 41 mm in diameter and 13.78 mm in height. Inside, the mechanism is driven by the Jaquet Droz JD2653.SI movement, which provides a 68-hour power reserve. Its 18K white-gold oscillating weight features an onyx appliqué. The watch is fitted with a rubber strap closed by an 18K white-gold folding clasp.
Offered as a unique piece, the Jaquet Droz Petite Heure Minute – Les Volumes du Temps carries an estimated price of INR 1.20 Cr to INR 1.80 Cr.
