Gerald Charles has introduced the Maestro GC39 Mitoraj, a one-of-a-kind timepiece made for the third edition of the TimeForArt auction, organised by the Swiss Institute in partnership with Phillips. The model is inspired by the Polish sculptor Igor Mitoraj and features a 3D sculpture.
The TimeForArt auction will take place at Phillips in New York on December 5, 2026, with proceeds supporting the Swiss Institute’s exhibitions, programmes, and initiatives. The auction will feature 26 brands to support contemporary art.

The watch features a 42 mm × 42 mm Grade 5 titanium case with a thickness of 11 mm and a polished finish. The warm-toned bezel is made of titanium and is treated with 4N PVD, while a screw-down crown with a Clous-de-Paris finish and an embossed logo adds the finishing touches. Turn the watch over, and a closed Grade 5 titanium caseback is engraved with “Luci di Nara”, the artist’s signature, and a TimeForArt identity. The watch offers water resistance of up to 100 metres.

The dial features a jumping-hour display positioned in the upper section, whereas the lower section features a three-dimensional brass miniature face sculpture finished with warm 4N PVD and a machined guilloché-pattern background. The model comes with polished 4N cabochon indexes, has a railway-style minute track, and uses a central minute hand, while the hour is displayed through the jumping-hour aperture. The dial is finished with a Gerald Charles Genève logo that is present between the date aperture and the brass sculpture.

Powering the watch is the Swiss-made automatic GCA3900 calibre, an in-house movement developed for the brand’s jumping-hour display. The anti-clockwise jumping-hour mechanism is combined with the concentric central minutes. It consists of 265 components, including 38 rubies, operates at a frequency of 4 Hz, and provides a power reserve of 50 hours. The bridges are decorated with Côtes de Genève and perlage finishes, while the jumping-hour module wheels are rhodium-plated.

The model is paired with a taupe full-grain calfskin leather strap whose colour and texture complement the warm tones of the sculpture and bezel. The strap is secured with a polished butterfly deployant buckle.
